Siete Leguas Anejo Tequila
Siete Leguas Anejo Tequila is a 700mL anejo bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave in Atotonilco el Alto, Los Altos, Jalisco — NOM 1120 — and aged 24 months in American white oak barrels previously used for bourbon. Siete Leguas blends spirit from its two distilleries — the mule-drawn tahona of Fabrica El Centenario and the roller mill of Fabrica La Vencedora — cooks the agave in small masonry ovens and distils twice in copper pot stills, as it has since 1952. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Two Distilleries, One Highlands Anejo since 1952
Siete Leguas — named for Pancho Villa's horse — was founded in 1952 by Don Ignacio Gonzalez Vargas and became so respected for its traditional make that it produced the original Patron before Patron built its own distillery in 2002. Uniquely, the house still runs two fabricas side by side and blends them: fibre-fermented tahona spirit from El Centenario and roller-mill spirit from La Vencedora. The Anejo rests a full two years in American white oak. Explore the house on the Siete Leguas vendor page, or browse our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the brand: an amber-yellow pour with golden highlights; a nose of cooked agave and delicate oak opening to vanilla, dried fruits, quince, orange, peach, light chocolate, coffee and maple; a warm, silky-creamy palate of maple, coffee, chocolate and vanilla over dried and red fruits.
How to Enjoy
A sipping anejo in the classic highlands style — neat, at room temperature, with time in the glass. More aged tequilas are in our spirits collection.
