The Reposado With an Extra Anejo Heart
Most reposados stop at the barrel. Lobos blends a measure of its own Extra Anejo back into this one before the PX sherry solera finish, which is why it drinks deeper and darker than its age suggests — cocoa, coffee, and wine-cask fruit over cooked agave. Tasting Notes
Nose: Cooked agave and oak — complex and spicy, with lightly toasted coffee, cocoa, and a humid-forest depth. Palate: Bold and robust: wine, wood, medium-roast cocoa, dried orange peel, and burnt caramel. Finish: Warm and lingering; mellow amber colour.
How to Enjoy
Neat or on a large cube, it sips like a much older tequila. In cocktails, it gives a Margarita or Paloma a cocoa-and-wine depth a blanco cannot.
