Espolon Blanco Tequila
Espolon Blanco Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof) unaged blanco made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, distilled at Destiladora San Nicolas (NOM 1440) in this 750mL bottle. Agave piñas are slow-cooked for 20–22 hours in traditional brick ovens, then double-distilled through a combination of column and pot stills, with water drawn from 250 meters beneath the highlands and a proprietary yeast strain. The 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition named it Double Gold and "Best Silver Tequila." Order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Ramón the Rooster, Jalisco Highlands Agave
"Espolòn" is the spur on a rooster's leg, and the label's Ramón the rooster — rendered in José Guadalupe Posada-inspired Day of the Dead artwork — is one of tequila's most recognizable bottles. The blanco is the line's tribute to Mexican Independence Day, and it drinks like a blanco should: bright, peppery, agave-forward, built for Palomas and ranch waters but smooth enough to sip. It is the flagship of a brand founded by Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza and now part of Gruppo Campari. Compare it with other unaged expressions in our blanco tequila collection, browse all tequila, or see the full Espolon range.
Tasting Notes
Bright and agave-forward: sweet cooked agave and citrus up front, white pepper and floral notes through the middle, a clean mineral edge from the highland water. The finish is crisp and peppery with lingering agave sweetness — classic highland blanco character.
How to Enjoy
The house pour for cocktails: Paloma, Margarita, or a ranch water (Topo Chico + lime). Its clean profile also suits a highball with soda and lime. Sip neat or on the rocks if you like bright, peppery blancos — chill briefly rather than freezing.
