Aromas of a fruit orchard permeate the air the moment the cork is pulled – very pleasant. It opens with smoked dried apricots/peaches and super-dark honey, followed by suede – yes suede (a first for me) – then fruit cake and toasted caramel/toffee. The light-oily mouthfeel and decent legs, deliver a medium-long finish of smoked fruit, root beer (not sweet, but rootsy), and bitterness of rye bread. This is one of the most unique flavor profiles I’ve ever sipped. Interesting… Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
