Bulleit 10 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey
Bulleit 10 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey is a 750mL Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 45.6% ABV (91.2 proof), aged for a minimum of ten years in a select number of #4-charred American white oak barrels. It is Bulleit's high-rye recipe — 68% corn, 28% rye, 4% malted barley — given the one thing the flagship does not get: a decade in the barrel, set aside as the distillery's selected reserve. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Flagship Recipe, Ten Years On
First released in the US in 2013, the 10 Year Old takes Bulleit Bourbon's exact high-rye recipe and a select parcel of its barrels and simply waits — a minimum of ten years in #4-charred American white oak, where the rye's spice is slowly traded for depth. It remains the age-dated reserve of the classic Bulleit line: the same 1830s-inspired recipe Tom Bulleit revived, expressed at its most mature. Diageo's fact sheet records Gold Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2018 and 2015 for the expression. The wider family is on the Bulleit vendor page and in our bourbon whiskey collection.
Tasting Notes
Diageo's fact sheet gives a dark brown colour with a reddish-orange tint; rich, toasty oak on the nose with light vanilla and sweet dried fruit; an off-dry palate of spice, caramel and dried fruit; and a smooth, mellow finish. The widely reproduced maker set adds: deep russet colour, vanilla and dried fruit through the taste, and a long, smoky finish.
How to Enjoy
A neat pour, first and foremost — a decade of oak at a drinking-friendly 91.2 proof needs nothing. A single large cube stretches it without thinning it. More age-stated bourbons are in our whisky collection.
