Doc Swinson’s French Toasted Oak Bourbon Whiskey
The process of aging spirits in oak barrels can have a significant impact on the final flavor profile of a whiskey, and experimenting with different types of oak can yield unique and delicious results. This Double Oak whiskey is the first release in a line of whiskeys that focus on French oak barrels, specifically those used in the aging of some of the finest wines in the world. Taransaud Cooperages, located in the heart of Cognac, France, is known for its high-quality, limited-production oak casks. The oak used in this release comes from the Troncaise forest, and are seasoned for a minimum of 36 months, resulting in barrels with a subtle minerality and a bold sweetness and spiciness that complement the bourbon perfectly. Double Oak is an excellent choice for Fall.
