Copper Fox Peachwood American Single Malt Whiskey

Excellent unique single malt

Copper Fox Single Malt is one of the most unique malts I’ve tasted – full of orchard fruits. So, when I found the Toasted Peachwood, I was intrigued. The second you twist the cork, even before pulling it out of the bottle, the air is filled with peaches and cream with a dash of cinnamon – better than any potpourri. It opens with orange zest, clove, and toasted oak, followed by a bitterness of underripe peaches and almond extract – very intense almond flavor. The underripe peach is a unique flavor, but balances the sweetness quite nicely. The legs are clingy, delivering a heavy-cream mouthfeel and a medium-long peppery finish of smoked peaches and apricots, with some dark cherries in the background, then, late the finish, sweet lemon icing. Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
