Laphroaig 28 Year Old was first matured in an assortment of cask sizes, from quarter casks to butts, before the liquid from each was married in Sherry casks for the final year of its maturation period. The whisky is said to have aromas of grilled dates, leading to baked pears and burnt wood on the palate, finishing with a complex lingering peaty flavor.
